According to Business Insider, Facebook has embarked on a mission to label fake news stories and bury them in their News Feed with the assistance of various “fact checkers,” led by Poynter, a non profit school for journalism in St. Petersburg, Florida. Note: When I hear the term “non profit”, lots of big salaries and donations from various individuals and groups with a political agenda is what immediately comes to mind. But I digress.

One of the fact checkers of choice is none other than Snopes.com, a commonly known defender of any anything and everything Democrat. According to the Daily Caller: Snopes’ main political fact-checker is a writer named Kim Lacapria. Before writing for Snopes, Lacapria wrote for Inquisitr, a blog that — oddly enough — is known for publishing fake quotes and even downright hoaxes as much as anything else.

While at Inquisitr, the future “fact-checker” consistently displayed clear partisanship (RELATED: Snopes Caught Lying About Lack Of American Flags At Democratic Convention)  She described herself as “openly left-leaning” and a liberal. She trashed the Tea Party as “teahadists.” She called Bill Clinton “one of our greatest” presidents. She claimed that conservatives only criticized Lena Dunham’s comparison of voting to sex because they “fear female agency.”

Get the point? If this is Facebook’s idea of an unbiased moderator of factual news stories that are to appear in News Feed, I feel less informed already. Good thing there’s a back-up fact checking outfit, ABC News! Now that sounds like a household name I can trust, but let’s research a bit further.

ABC News is launching “The Real News About Fake News” powered by Facebook data to identify fake news stories circulating on the platform and help social media users sort fact from fiction, according to their website.

ABC News, who was recently busted for staging a fake crime scene during a news report is another of Facebook’s choices for truth arbiter. Story from CNN Money here: http://money.cnn.com/2016/11/04/media/abc-news-stage-live-shot/

ABC also just happens to be the home of 5 prominent journalists who were outed in leaked emails by Wikileaks, for meeting with and/or coordinating with top Hillary staffers during the presidential election, off line and without disclosure. The five are as follows: George Stephanoplous, Jon Karl, Diane Sawyer, David Muir and Cecilia Vega. Not a very good start Facebook…
